About The Validation Procedure

A trust hierarchy demands that entities "vouch" for each other. Companies that issue SSL Certificates are in the business of establishing that entities on the internet are, in fact, who they claim to be. The potential for criminal activity on the internet (in relevance to SSL), is in the online hijacking of web sites or connections to siphon encrypted data. Persons so inclined can easily copy web site interfaces and pose as well known vendors, simply to collect data. The use of an SSL Certificate prevents this from occurring because we will only issue an SSL Certificate to a legitimate entity.

How Do We Issue A Valid SSL Certificate

We Issue Certificates In A Matter Of Minutes....

There are new, low cost alternatives in which certificates can now be issued quickly. These certificates verify that the certificate holder is the owner of that domain, ensuring customers that the owner of the certificate is who they claim to be.

We utilise various validation procedures, such as real-time telephony authentication and automated e-mail verification. Read the following sections for further information.

    Telephone Authentication

As part of the ordering process you may be prompted to complete the Telephone Authentication. This is where we will place an automated call to your telephone number and ask you to enter a PIN we display on screen, so ensure you have access to a telephone when you order. An e-mail will be sent to the administrative contact chosen during the ordering process to explain how to complete the Telephone Authentication and may be completed at any time after the ordering process.

A maximum number of 3 attempts will be given to complete the Telephone Authentication before the order is queued for manual review.

In some cases the Telephone Authentication is not required.

    Approver E-Mail

The Approver will be chosen during the ordering process. We will send an Approver E-Mail to the designated Approver e-mail address. The following generic e-mail address are able to be used :

  • admin@yourdomain.com
  • administrator@yourdomain.com
  • webmaster@yourdomain.com
  • ssladmin@yourdomain.com
  • root@yourdomain.com
  • hostmaster@yourdomain.com
  • The above addresses are generic addresses. Applicants must choose a generic address to prove that they administer the domain name purchasing the SSL Certificate. If we are able to retrieve the contact e-mail address from the WHOIS database it can also be used.

    ChoicePoint Unique Identifier

As part of the provisioning process with our certificates, your business will be registered with ChoicePoint and assigned a ChoicePoint Unique Identifier (CUI). The CUI provides a corporate profile to your internet users through information embedded in your certificate. The business registration profile initially contains the basic self-reported information from your CSR. ChoicePoint will allow relying parties to view and purchase additional data about your company. With the ChoicePoint Unique Identifier, industry recognised domain control authentication, and two-factor telephony authentication, our SSL products add further validation to forge the strongest real-time authentication process on the market today.

    Manual Verification Products

Some products require manual verification. If a product requires manual verification it will be stated within the product information pages. Generally manual verification is required for products which rely on corporate vetting.

    Order Queuing And Fraud Prevention

In the event an authentication procedure fails or our system suspects possible fraudulent activity, the order may be queued for manual review. Also, occasionally orders are randomly queued for manual review. Please Contact Us if your order is queued and you require further assistance.
