What Documents Are Required |

To qualify for Secure Site + EV the company requesting the certificate must be registered as a corporation or equivalent with the appropriate government agency in its country of jurisdiction. VeriSign® must be able to confirm all of the following company registration requirements : |
| Official government agency records must include : |
1. The company's registration number. 2. The company's date of registration or incorporation. 3. The company's registered address. |
A non-government data source (such as Dun & Bradstreet) must include the companies place of business address. |
If the company has been registered for less than 3 years, VeriSign® must verify operational existence through one of the following means : |
1. Through a non-government data source (such as Dun & Bradstreet) |
2. By verifying the organization has an active demand deposit account (such as a checking account) with a regulated financial institution through a Lawyer’s Opinion Letter or directly with the financial institution. |
| Lawyers Opinion Letter (Required) |
A Lawyers Opinion Letter confirming that the requestor has the authority to obtain an SSL Certificate on behalf of the company must be submitted to VeriSign. The Lawyers Opinion Letter also may be used to confirm the organization registration, organization address, telephone number, domain ownership, and that the organization is conducting business. Once confirmed, the requestor may be able to purchase additional SSL Certificates based on the original letter. |
